*The best way to contact me is to send a note in your child’s folder. I check these every morning and can respond to your note promptly. You can also reach me through email. My email address is[email protected]
*If your child will not be going home as normally scheduled, please send a note in your child’s folder stating the way they will be getting home. You may also contact the office at 847-870-3875. Otherwise, your child will go home as originally scheduled.
*Healthy snacks are allowed. The first graders worked together to come up with a list of nutritious snacks that aren’t too messy, won’t damage our rug or cause crumbs. Below are their suggestions for our snack time.
*Fresh, raw or cooked vegetables (without sauces or dips)
*Dried, fresh, or cooked fruit (without dips)
*Pickles
*String cheese/cheeses
*No nuts or eggs please
*All homework is due the following day.
*Your child should read about 20 minutes each night or a total of 2-3 hours each week. This can include reading to your child, reading with your child, and listening to your child read to you. As your child’s reading skills get stronger their at home reading can be done independently. Record their reading time on the reading log on the back of our weekly assignment sheet.
*Math Homelinks come home almost every night. These should take no longer than 10-15 minutes. Math facts should be practiced several nights a week.
*Spelling words should be practiced every night. Words come home each Monday on the assignment sheet. Spelling post-tests are taken on Friday.
